
B-L Middle School was buzzing with excitement today as the SC Department of Education visited to film BLMS Teacher of the Year and SC Teacher of the Year Finalist Corey Bedenbaugh. The footage captured will be featured in a special highlight video to be showcased at the State Teacher of the Year Gala on April 24.

13 HOSA students from B-L High School represented their school and #lex3 at the SC HOSA Spring Leadership Conference in Myrtle Beach from March 5th through 7th. A special shoutout to senior Christopher Lopez-Gerardo who was named our HOSA chapter’s 2025 Outstanding HOSA Member!


The State Transport Police’s DRIVE 2 ZERO initiative visited B-L High School, providing students with a powerful, hands-on experience of what it's like to drive while impaired or distracted. This impactful program is part of the State Transport Police’s outreach and education efforts designed to address unsafe driving behaviors before they happen. We encourage all of our Panthers to always practice safe driving habits!

Six students from B-L High School recently earned the South Carolina Seal of Biliteracy. The Seal of Biliteracy is an award that can be made by a state department of education or school district to recognize students who have attained a certain level of proficiency in both English and at least one additional world language. Currently, in addition to the state of South Carolina, 49 states and Washington D.C. have approved Seals of Biliteracy. Lexington Three is gearing up for National School Breakfast week which runs from March 3rd through 7th. Please encourage your child to take advantage of our free breakfasts every day, but especially next week as our Food Services Department has some delicious meals on the menu!



Congratulations to the B-L Middle and High School archery teams for earning invitations to the 2025 South Carolina Archery in the Schools State Championship! Competing this week in Columbia, both teams ranked among the top 15 in the state. They delivered outstanding performances against the competition, with several athletes achieving personal bests. Well done, Panthers!

We extend our gratitude to the SC Arms Collectors Association for their generous donation to Batesburg-Leesville High School’s JROTC Marksmanship program and Clay Shooting team. On Monday, Buddy Ridgell, Chairman of the SC Arms Collectors Association Board, and Daphyne Ridgell, Secretary/Treasurer of the Board, visited BLHS to present the donation, supporting the continued success of these outstanding programs.

Our first-ever Heritage Hoops event on Friday, January 17th was a huge success! The event was held in the gorgeous new B-L High School gymnasium and featured Panthers basketball stars of the past including Coach Gary Phillips, Lexington County Councilman Larry Brigham, Jessica Barr-Dennis, Sharon Baston, Laquantis Stewart, Mylaysia Gates, and Chamajd Hyland. Honored guests were given an embroidered B-L basketball to commemorate the event.

Lexington County School District Three's Board of Trustees members signed the official SC School Boards Association Ethical Principles poster at last night's meeting as part of School Board Recognition Month. In addition, Dr. Gariane Gunter was recognized and honored for 15 years of service to the Lexington Three Board of Trustees. Since being elected in 2010, Dr. Gunter has devoted countless hours to enhancing public education in South Carolina and Lexington Three.

Students from B-L High School traveled to the coast on Tuesday, December 17th to perform at the Carolina Opry. The group, comprised of students from the BLHS chorus and BLHS musical theatre department, sang beautiful Christmas music for the pre-show entertainment.


Our AVID students at B-L High School recently traveled over to B-L Primary School to read with some of our second grade students. This is an annual event that unites our oldest Panthers with some of our youngest Panthers! Students enjoyed good books, hot chocolate and cookies together. What a great holiday tradition!
