Lexington Three Announces eLearning Day for Monday, February 2nd

Lexington County School District Three announces that Monday, February 2nd will be an eLearning Day for all students and staff in the district. A significant amount of snow has already fallen in our area, with additional snowfall expected throughout the day and evening on Saturday, January 31st. Road conditions are deteriorating quickly and extremely cold temperatures are expected to extend hazardous travel conditions into Sunday and Monday. Therefore, to ensure the safety of our students and staff, Lexington Three will shift to an eLearning Day on Monday, February 2nd.

What is an eLearning Day?

An eLearning Day in Lexington Three means that students do not physically come to school. Instead, they complete assignments remotely from the safety of their home.

eLearning Details:

All students in grades K4 through 12th grade will have eLearning assignments to complete on Monday, February 2nd. Students in grades K4 through 5th grade will have written assignments to complete via paper packets. These assignments were sent home with students on Friday, January 30th. Students in the 6th through 12th grades will have assignments to complete via Google Classroom using their district-issued Chromebook. Unless otherwise indicated by the teacher, all assignments should be turned in by no later than Tuesday, February 17th. Please note that internet access is not a requirement for any of the Chromebook assignments to be completed. If internet access is not available at home, the completed assignments should be left open on your child’s Chromebook as they will automatically sync and update once the Chromebook is back inside the confines of our district internet system. Any student who has questions about an assignment can email his/her teacher.

Extracurricular Events:

All after-school events including sports practices, games, meetings, etc. scheduled for Monday, February 2nd are canceled.

Lexington Three recognizes the burden that schedule changes can place on our Panther families. That’s why we work to communicate any updates as quickly as possible, giving families sufficient time to adjust their plans. Please stay tuned to your phones, our district website (www.lex3.org) and our social media platforms for any future updates and announcements about school schedules that may be forthcoming in the days ahead.
