Lexington County School District Three is proud to announce that eight teachers from Batesburg-Leesville Middle School have been selected to receive Strategic Compensation Grants from the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE).
Lexington Three applied for the South Carolina Department of Education’s Strategic Compensation Pilot Program in January 2025. This competitive initiative aims to financially reward English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics teachers in public school districts and charter schools whose students demonstrate significant academic growth throughout the school year. In this round of the pilot program, approximately $5 million in total funding was available statewide and distributed on a competitive basis. Lexington Three’s awards were determined by spring-to-spring student growth as measured by the SC READY assessment. The pilot program serves as an important component of the SCDE’s broader strategy to strengthen educator recruitment and retention across South Carolina.
The eight educators from B-L Middle School were surprised with the announcement of their awards during the Lexington Three Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, November 11th.
