Tropical Storm Debby

Lexington County School District Three announces that Thursday, August 8th will be an eLearning Day for all students and staff in the district. Tropical Storm Debby remains just off the coast of South Carolina and forecasts call for heavy periods of rain to begin again on Wednesday evening and continue into the day on Thursday. In addition, wind gusts up to 40 mph are expected throughout the day on Thursday. With the soil already saturated from this week's excessive rainfall, the added impact could bring down power lines and trees and make our dirt roads impassable for school buses, thus creating dangerous driving conditions.

What is an eLearning Day?

An eLearning Day in Lexington Three means that students do not physically come to school. Instead, they complete assignments remotely from the safety of their home.

eLearning Details:

All students in grades K4 through 12th grade will have eLearning assignments to complete on Thursday, August 8th. Students in grades K4 through 2nd grade will have written assignments to complete. These assignments were sent home with students on Tuesday, August 6th. Students in the 3rd through 12th grades will have assignments to complete via Google Classroom using their district-issued Chromebook. Unless otherwise indicated by the teacher, all assignments should be turned in by no later than Friday, August 16th.

Please note that internet access is not a requirement for any of these assignments to be completed. Students who have assignments that need to be completed using a Chromebook will have the work loaded onto their Chromebook prior to leaving school on Wednesday, August 7th. If internet access is not available at home, the completed assignments should be left open on your child’s Chromebook as they will automatically sync and update once the Chromebook is back inside the confines of our district internet system. All students in grades 3rd through 12th should bring their Chromebooks back to school when a return date is announced. Any student who has questions about an assignment can email his/her teacher.

After School Events:

All after school events including sports practices, meetings, etc. scheduled for Thursday, August 8th are canceled.
