Congratulations to Laura Bishop, a STEM teacher at B-L Middle School, on being named as a recipient of one of Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative's Bright Ideas grants. Ms. Bishop plans to use the $1,000 grant to purchase additional STEM supplies for her classroom including pinball machine kits, circuit board kits and possibly even robotics kits.
Each October, MCEC provides around $18,000 in grants to local educators to supplement creative classroom projects. Grants are available to teachers who complete the application process and are chosen as winners in Lexington County School Districts One, Two, Three and Five, and in the Saluda County School District.
Congratulations!
