On Monday, August 28th, Lexington Three administrators and Board of Trustees members gathered alongside students and staff members from Batesburg-Leesville Middle School to unveil a brand new playground designed specifically for the school's special education students.
The playground, which is located right outside of the special education classroom, features an art panel, sensory panel, sand table, benches, picnic tables, a toss up funnel ball game, a cozy cocoon, spin cup, wave ramp, and shade canopy.
"We're thrilled to be able to offer this new experience for our special education population. Especially as the cooler weather begins to move in, students will now be able to expand upon their learning in an outdoor setting that's designed specifically for them," said Angie Mishoe, Lexington Three's Director of Special Services.
Students got the opportunity to test out the new playground equipment following the ribbon cutting ceremony and loved all of it! For more pictures, please visit the Lexington Three social media pages.
