It was no easy task today for these three outstanding individuals who served as judges in our Lexington Three Teacher of the Year process! They visited the classrooms of our four teacher finalists and conducted one-on-one interviews to help determine who will be named the 2025-2026 District Three Teacher of the Year. The big announcement will be made at a special banquet on September 16th! A huge thank you to our judges for lending their time and expertise: ⭐ Stephanie Wallace, Director of Curriculum & Instruction, Edgefield County School District; ⭐ Holly Brazell, Director of Curriculum & Instruction, Saluda County School District; ⭐ Toni Chewning, Director of Association Activities, Palmetto State Teachers Association.

We’re still riding the wave of excitement as we continue to celebrate Mr. Corey Bedenbaugh, the newly-named 2026 South Carolina Teacher of the Year! On Monday, B-L Middle School—Mr. Bedenbaugh’s home school—hosted a school-wide assembly in his honor. Principal Sharah Clark and Superintendent Dr. Ashley Atkinson shared powerful words of pride and admiration and students had the special opportunity to hear directly from Mr. Bedenbaugh himself. To top it all off, every student and staff member enjoyed a celebratory cupcake in recognition of Mr. Bedenbaugh's incredible achievement! We are so proud of Mr. Bedenbaugh and the light he shines on Lexington Three, our students, and public education across the state!
